Spring of 2018 has been busy with the arrival of new lambs. We were blessed with 13 new Royal White lambs and 3 Old English Southdown Babydoll lambs this year. We were quite surprised when one of the Royal White ewes had quadruplet ewe lambs. The Quads have been quite popular with visitors to the ranch. In another surprise, our last lamb of the season was a spotted Babydoll lamb, which are quite rare. We are excited that the genetics in our current flock produced a spotted lamb. With only a 25% chance of getting one even with the right genetic match ups, it was quite fortunate for us that one arrived this May. As Spring on Dempsey Creek is drawing to a close, the lilacs are in full bloom and the aroma reminds us that summer is just about to begin in Lava Hot Springs. The Baker Ranch crew is busy preparing for the 2018 wagon ride season. Rex, Peggy and Autumn hope everyone has a safe and happy summer while visiting Lava Hot Springs!
